Charismatic Buenos Aires-born vocalist and guitarist Guillermo Rozenthuler has become one of the leading voices of Argentine Tango and South American song in the UK. Since his arrival in the UK in 2000 he’s been performing as a solo artist and with bands across Great Britain in a variety of Latin ensembles.
In 2003, Guillermo founded Rioplatenses, a band dedicated to play and promote the folkloric music from Argentina. They performed at most of Britain’s major festivals, including Womad, City of London, SouthBank Festival and many others.

A soulful singer and a versatile improviser, Guillermo’s originals and his distinctive take on popular songs from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Cuba are sometimes influenced by Middle Eastern and Indian vocal styles. He has performed and regularly appears in some of London’s major Jazz and World music venues, such as Pizza Express Live, Ronnie Scotts, Kings Place, Green Note.

As a tango singer, Guillermo has recently toured the UK with box- office success show Midnight Tango. He’s currently the vocalist of the London Tango Orchestra, Tango Clasico Trio, Pinta Brava and Los Mareados.

Other highlights of his career in the UK were being a soloist at Pete Churchill’s modern oratorio ‘The Journey” with orchestra and mass choir at the Royal Albert Hall, and singing the Argentine Anthem at Twickenham Stadium for the Rugby World Cup.

Guillermo’s love of Latin American music prompted him to engage high quality South American musicians and develop Candombe! -Afro-Latin music from Uruguay and Brazil Meu Amor, a band performing classic and modern Brazilian songs.

His latest collaboration with UK musicians is “Musica Paradiso’ a band shared with British jazz star Tina May and string orchestra.
He’s developing two more projects: ‘Agora’, a collaboration with internationally acclaimed Latin Jazz pianist Edward Simon, and has just released the first album of the London Tango Orchestra.
